What's included in the box?
Your Norvik 4K Dual Dash Cam comes with everything you need to get started: the 4K front camera unit, 1080P rear camera with 6-metre cable, GPS module, car charger, electrostatic mounting sticker (no adhesive residue on your windshield), cable management buckle, and a user manual. Just add a micro SD card (Class 10 or higher, up to 128GB) and you're ready to go.
What video quality does it record in?
The front camera records in full 4K Ultra HD (3840x2160) at 30fps with a 170-degree wide-angle lens. The rear camera records in 1080P Full HD (1920x1080) at 25fps with a 140-degree lens. Both cameras use 6-layer glass lenses with F1.8 (front) and F2.0 (rear) apertures for sharp footage in all lighting conditions, including at night.
How does the dash cam get power?
It plugs into your car's cigarette lighter (12V) using the included car charger. The camera turns on automatically when you start your car and shuts off when you turn the engine off. For 24-hour parking monitoring, you'll need to connect the included hardwire buck line to your car's fuse box — this keeps the camera powered while parked and includes low-voltage protection (11.2V / 11.5V / 11.8V settings) so it won't drain your battery.
How do I install it?
Installation takes about 10–15 minutes with no tools required for the basic setup. Apply the electrostatic sticker to your windshield, attach the camera to the sticker, route the power cable along the top of your windshield and down the A-pillar, and plug it into your cigarette lighter. The rear camera attaches to your rear window with the included 6-metre cable. For a cleaner look, you can tuck the cables behind your car's interior trim panels using the included cable buckle.
Does it come with an SD card?
The camera does not include an SD card. We recommend using a high-endurance micro SD card (Class 10 or higher) with a capacity between 32GB and 128GB. High-endurance cards from Samsung (PRO Endurance) or SanDisk (High Endurance) are ideal for dash cams as they're built to handle continuous recording and heat. Avoid standard SD cards — they wear out quickly under constant use.
How does parking mode work?
Parking mode lets the camera keep recording after you turn your engine off, so it captures hit-and-runs, vandalism, or break-ins while you're away. It offers time-lapse recording (to save storage) and collision detection (automatically records when an impact is detected). Parking mode requires the included hardwire buck line to be connected to your car's fuse box. You can set the monitoring duration (6, 12, 24, or 48 hours) and the low-voltage cutoff to protect your car battery.
How do I view my footage?
You have three options. First, you can connect to the camera via WiFi using the free Viidure app (available on iOS and Android) to preview, download, and share footage directly to your phone. Second, you can remove the SD card and view files on your computer — footage is saved in MOV/MP4 format. Third, the camera has a built-in 1.47-inch OLED screen that lets you switch between front view, rear view, and standby modes.
Does it record GPS data?
Yes. The included GPS module logs your vehicle's location, speed, latitude, longitude, and driving route. You can view your route on Google Maps through the Viidure app or using the GPS player software on your computer. This data is embedded in your video files, which makes the footage more useful for insurance claims and legal purposes.
How does loop recording work?
The camera records continuously in short clips (1, 2, or 3-minute segments — adjustable in settings). When the SD card is full, the oldest unlocked clips are automatically overwritten with new footage, so the camera never stops recording. Clips that are locked by the G-sensor during a collision or impact are protected and won't be overwritten.
What is the G-sensor and how sensitive is it?
The built-in G-sensor detects sudden impacts, hard braking, or collisions and automatically locks the current video clip to prevent it from being overwritten. You can adjust the sensitivity through the app or camera settings. We recommend setting it to "Low" or "Medium" to avoid false triggers from speed bumps or rough roads, which can fill up your SD card with locked files.
Is the camera compatible with my vehicle?
The camera is compatible with any vehicle that has a 12V power outlet (cigarette lighter). This covers most cars, SUVs, utes, and vans in Australia. Note: vehicles with a 24V system (some trucks and heavy vehicles) require a 24V to 12V converter — the camera should not be connected directly to a 24V supply.
